Thresholds
Walking through the city of Melbourne we experience threshold spaces physically and visually. We rush through city, cutting through familiar laneways and retail spaces but what if you stopped and looked at your surroundings? This series observes reflections and distortions, the unseen and the overlooked, Oblique views offered here make the familiar uncanny.
St. Collins Lane in Melbourne was a wonderful folly of checkerboard floors, mirrored ceilings and walls and a glass waterfall chandelier descending from an open atrium. The space was very surreal. This series was presented as a Photo book and the following images are a sample. As of 2026 renovations have removed the glass chandelier, mirrors, staircase and surreal ambiance.
